A film about our own times, about young people protesting against outworn custom and building their lives as they themselves wish. The events unfold in the village and in the city. Ahmad (Sayavush Shafiyev) comes to his parents and discovers that they have decided to marry him off without asking him; furious, he leaves home. The same happens to Leyla (Tohfa Azimova), who is also being married against her will and leaves for the city to study. Ahmad's family sets out to find him — and by chance Ahmad and Leyla meet and fall in love.
