
Aslanov Seyavush Mammadagha oghlu, one of the representatives of the Azerbaijani school of realist acting, was born on 5 September 1935 in the Saray village of Baku. From 1947 to 1953 he performed in the drama clubs of Atamoghlan Rzayev, Aghadadash Gurbanov, Gurban Musayev and Aghasalim Manafli. In 1954 he worked briefly in a musical comedy variety troupe, and in 1958 at the Guba State Drama Theatre. Returning to Baku in 1959, Seyavush Aslan was hired into the support staff of the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theatre. That same year, having successfully performed the role of Goshun in Aghasi Mashadibeyov's play "Whose Wedding Is It?," he was transferred to the main acting staff. For many years he was one of the leading actors of the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theatre. He served for a time as the theatre's artistic director (1994–1996) and was a masterful performer of many characters. Seyavush Aslan passed away in Baku on 27 June 2013 after a long illness. He was buried in the Second Alley of Honour.
