The hero of this lyrical comedy is old Nadir (Huseynagha Sadigov), who has spent his life as a gardener growing wonderful apples. Though untrained, he always longed for knowledge and dreamed of growing a seedless variety — and through hard work and experiment he finally succeeds. The beautiful, magical apples bring people happiness: the driver Gurban (Hasan Mammadov) falls in love with the young farm girl Madina (Safura Ibrahimova), a teacher (Inara Guliyeva) befriends unruly children, a gruff postman turns kind, the telephone operator (Sugra Baghirzada) becomes attentive, and Hashim (Ahmad Ahmadov), father of seven daughters, at last has a son. But where there are miracles there are also those who want to grow rich on them... The film calls for honesty and mutual respect, and shows that happiness lies only in honest labour.
