Tohfa (born Tofila) Ibrahim gizi Azimova was born on 6 February 1938 in Baku. Her true profession was that of a piano teacher. She met her husband, film artist Jabrail Azimov, in 1957 during the filming of "Qızmar günəş altında." The couple married in 1958. As an actress, she created two memorable roles: Leyla in "Əhməd haradadır" and Narmina in "Qızmar günəş altında." Her husband Jabrail Azimov died in a car accident in 1969 while taking their only son Elman and his friends to Shikhov beach. After that, Tohfa Azimova raised her son alone and taught piano at Music School No. 1 in Baku until the end of her life.
