Life had forced them to live and to be seen differently. The times were indifferent to their fate and society did not want to believe them — so they chose a strange way of coming to people's aid in hard days. After the war of 1941–1945 a group of young men take the surplus wealth of the “rich” and share it among the poor, and at the same time protect the honour of women and brides, above all of mothers and sisters whose husbands had gone to the front. In law they are branded thieves, yet most people find their actions just. The film tells of these young men's good deeds committed by criminal means.
