Having studied under Alexander Tuganov, Maharram Hashimov and Aghasadig Garaybayli, Nasiba Zeynalova, while still a student at the college, played the roles of Katharina ('The Taming of the Shrew', William Shakespeare), Elvira ('Don Juan', Jean-Baptiste Molière) and Elizabeth ('Mary Stuart', Friedrich Schiller). Having devoted her life to the Musical Comedy Theatre, the actress never left the company even during the periods when the artistic institution operated with certain interruptions as a troupe, or as an ensemble attached to the Philharmonic. In productions of Azerbaijani classical operettas, the actress performed such distinctive character roles as Gulperi, Aunt Jahan and Sanam ('Husband and Wife', 'Arshin Mal Alan' and 'Mashadi Ibad', by Uzeyir bay Hajibeyov) and Malak khanim and Kalak khanim ('Young at Fifty', by Zulfugar bay Hajibeyov). Among the actress's rich gallery of roles, a special place is held by those she performed in translated works: Kabato and Barbale ('Keto and Kote' by Vladimir Dolidze, translated by Shamsi Badalbeyli), Ziraldina ('A Servant of Two Masters' by Carlo Goldoni, music arranged by Shamsaddin Fatullayev), Zivar khanim ('The Flower of Love' by the Turkmen playwright Mukhtar Huseynov and Suleyman Alasgarov), Alma ('Sweet Dreams', translated by A. Suleymanov and Abdulla Gudrat), Gesiya ('A Tbilisi Song' by Levon Chubabiria and Shota Milorova, translated by Adil Babayev), and Gulbadam ('The Bride's Mother' ('My Beloved's Mother') by Georgi Khugayev and A. Ovanov). Nasiba Zeynalova's most brilliant creative period, however, is linked to her performances of one distinctive comic character after another in contemporary musical comedies on modern themes by present-day composers. In this respect the actress is regarded as the unrivalled performer of the following roles.
