The scholar Karim Asgaroghlu comes to Ankara for an academic conference and goes on to Istanbul to realise his intention of teaching at a Turkish university. Karim is a man who has kept his dignity, his selfhood and his integrity through hard times and complicated circumstances, and who pays a price for it. The grief of Karabakh he carries always within him, his longing for Shusha and the bitter memory of the Khojaly tragedy are the true cause of his heartache, in both the literal and the figurative sense. Family cares, the broken promises of work in Istanbul and other negative emotions large and small are added to that sorrow and shorten his life. The film is based on motifs from Anar Rzayev's novella A Hotel Room in Sıraselviler.
