
Mehriban Zaki was born on 18 December 1966 in the city of Baku. In 1991 she graduated from the drama and film acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Arts. From 1990 to 2005 she worked as an actress at the "Yugh" State Theatre and played many roles on the theatre's stage. From 2000 to 2011 she worked at the "Ibrus" theatre. She currently works at the Azerbaijan State National Academic Drama Theatre. She also continues her teaching career with the Sabah groups at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. In 1995 she took part in the "Manas-1000" jubilee celebrations held in Bishkek, marking the festival of pan-Turkic culture, and in 1999 she took part in the UNESCO event marking the 1300th anniversary of the Book of Dede Gorgud, held in Paris, Moscow and Baku. She has appeared in many feature films produced by the Azerbaijanfilm film studio: as the journalist girl (Hope), Latifa (Hotel Room), Elmira (Family), Gulya (Melody of the Place), Tayba (I've Sprinkled Water on the Streets), Maya (Farewell, Southern City), Nara (The Knot) and Narmin (The Liars). Possessing a beautiful vocal timbre, the actress has also performed as a narrator and vocalist in films.
