The film tells of Atabeg Shamsaddin Eldeniz, founder of the Atabeg state that ruled Azerbaijan, eastern Anatolia, northern Iraq, Iran and Jibal between 1136 and 1225, and of Gara Sungur, the first great atabeg of Azerbaijan.
