The events of this story unfold in one of Azerbaijan's villages during the Second World War, in an atmosphere of hard labour, of unity among the whole people and, at the same time, of complex human relations. In this village the breath of war is felt in every house: women and children do the field work in place of the husbands, fathers and sons who have gone to the front. There is life in the film, and love, and shock, and joy.
