
Safura Ibrahimova was born on 27 December 1938 in Baku. In 1955 she finished School No. 14. From 1955 to 1960 she worked at 'Stalinneft' and at School No. 44, where she attended a drama club. In 1960 she enrolled at the faculty of drama and film acting of the Mirzagha Aliyev Azerbaijan State Theatre Institute. While still a first-year student she was invited to play the role of Khatira in a production, then in the repertoire of the Academic National Drama Theatre, of Islam Safarli's drama 'A Mother's Heart'. After playing several more roles as a student actress, she joined the troupe of the Academic Theatre on 1 November 1961. Safura Ibrahimova worked at this theatre until 2005. In 1967, when Novruz was celebrated in the USSR, Safura Ibrahimova was the first 'spring girl'. The actress died on 21 December 2020.
