The film is about the life and many-sided legacy of Mirza Fatali Akhundzada — founder of Azerbaijani dramaturgy and a great public figure who left indelible traces in the literary history of Azerbaijan and the Near East. Three periods of the dramatist's life are portrayed: childhood, youth and old age. Dedicated to the two hundredth anniversary of his birth, the film was shot in Turkey, Georgia, Sheki, Baku, Ganja and Goranboy.
