Out of naivety, the hero takes a job at a debt-collection company operating unofficially in the city. His task is to recover money from those who owe banks or private individuals. He does the work well — until one of the debtors is found dead and, with all the evidence against him, he is arrested. The main part of the film takes place in a prison reminiscent of Guantanamo or Alcatraz. To prove his innocence the hero devises a plan of escape — but escaping from this prison is impossible.
