
He was born in 1965 in the city of Guba. In 1972 he entered the first grade of Guba Secondary School No. 2. In 1987 he enrolled in the musical theatre acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, graduating with honours in 1992, after which he was invited to the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theatre. He also created a number of memorable characters on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Young Spectators' Theatre and at the 'Ilham' miniature theatre. From 1996 Faig Mirzayev tied his artistic fate to television, contributing greatly to the establishment of the 'Khayal' and 'Gutb' television channels operating in Guba. From 2007 he actively took part in the creation of RTV, which began operating as Azerbaijan's first digital television channel with a much wider broadcast reach. There he started as a presenter and rose to become director of the creative department. During his five years at RTV, Faig Mirzayev played an active role not only as an author and presenter but also as a highly skilled director in training local television staff and producing numerous original programmes. Faig Mirzayev is currently, on ARB TV, project head, presenter and director of 'The Seasons of Life', a programme devoted to the lives and work of veteran masters of Azerbaijani theatre and cinema and to prominent figures in science, education and politics. He has, at various times, worked at ARB (Region) TV as presenter, director, head of the creative department, editor-in-chief and project head. He currently continues his acting career, creating a variety of characters in films and TV series.
