A young man named Taleh works in a furniture workshop together with his father Ahmad. Their life is simple and built on a warm daily routine; for Taleh, Ahmad is not only a father but a friend. Then one day an elderly, dishevelled man comes to the workshop and tells Taleh: “I am your real father.” The words plant a seed of doubt. Every small detail of Ahmad's past — a glance, an answer avoided, a request for the salt — now looks like the trace of a hidden truth. Taleh secretly goes to the orphanage, searches the records and finds a sheet bearing his own surname and the words “father's name: Fikrat”. Everything falls apart. He confronts Ahmad, accuses him of lying and leaves home to find his “real” father. At the end of the road he is met by Fikrat, who has suffered for years under his own truth. He seems kind — but the cold air of the house, the silence inside it and the old furniture hide the shadow of a tragedy.
