
Vidadi Hasanov was born on 16 July 1958 in Ganja. He graduated from Ganja City School No. 37. After completing his military service in 1979, he began his career at the Jafar Jabbarli Ganja State Drama Theatre. In 1980 he entered the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, majoring in drama and film acting. He performed as an actor at the university''s Teaching Theatre. Vidadi Hasanov began teaching at the same university in 1986. He has worked at the Yugh Theatre since 1990. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Variety-Show Directing of the University of Culture and Arts. In 2008 his book of poems, "I Don''t Want to Be a Poet", was published. Through the European Cinematographers'' Association, he completed a screenwriting course in Tbilisi in 2009 and in Moscow in 2010, receiving international certification. In 2011, at the first International Student Theatre Festival held in Almaty to mark the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the students of the course he led won the Grand Prix. Since 2016 he has been artistic director of "M. Theatre Production", founded under "Media Company".
