
After finishing school, he received an incomplete higher education at the finance and credit faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, leaving after the first year due to relocation and career advancement. In his early years of work he served as a correspondent for the newspapers "Azerbaijan Roads", "Zirva Yolu" and "Revansh", operating under Azeravtoyol OJSC. He later worked as a correspondent and advertising manager for the well-known oil industry magazine "Caspian Energy". From 2005 he worked as PR and marketing manager at a number of automobile companies. In 2008 he served as director of the company Zirva Motors (Isuzu). From 2005 to 2014 he was involved in parallel with the restaurant and hotel business. He founded Baku's well-known karaoke clubs (Z CLUB). He worked as an organiser of events in high public demand. He began his acting career in 2009. Having first appeared in a number of advertisements and music videos, Azer Aydamir has regularly appeared in films and television series since 2010. He became well known in 2012 for his role as Yuri Kovalyov in the film "Khoja". Nevertheless, he first began his acting career with the series "Donganlar", broadcast on Public Television. He has now appeared in more than 50 films. Since 2018 Azer Aydamir has also worked as a screenwriter for a number of films and series. In 2019, following the successful rebranding of the company Azercell, Azer Aydamir was chosen as the official voice of Azercell Telecom. Alongside his acting career, Azer Aydamir is currently one of the official voices and faces of Public Television. His work at Public Television began with hosting the daily social-analytical evening talk show "Let's Not Leave It for Tomorrow" (2019–2021). He has also hosted the Azerbaijani version of the licensed programme "How the Universe Works" from Discovery Science, broadcast on Public TV under the title "How the Universe Is Built".
