Orkhan Abbasov was born in Moscow and grew up in Baku. In 2015 he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in cinematography in Paris. He worked as regional marketing manager for the Caucasus at Procter & Gamble (2011–2013), Red Bull (2013–2014) and Samsung (2014–2015). Since 2015 he has continued his professional film career in Paris and Baku. Since 2020 he has been the creative director of "Debut" Film Studio.
