
In 1999 she entered the film directing faculty of the A. Huseynzade Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, graduating from the university in 2003. In 2003 she was admitted to the master's programme in cultural studies at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, graduating from that faculty in 2005. Since 16 November 2003 she has been an actress of the State Pantomime Theatre. She has appeared in productions such as B. Khanizade's "Journey to the East" (as the Indian Girl), M. Mkusabayov's "Shangul, Shungul, Mangul" (as the Old Fortune-Teller Woman and Mangul), B. Khanizade's "Love" (a plastic-movement piece based on Shakespeare's sonnets, as Ay and Varaq), Z. Zeynalov's "The Mask" (as the Woman), A. de Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince" (as the Rose), A. Camus's "Man" (as the Mason's Wife and the Arab Girl), and A. Mammadov's "The Blind" (as Death). She appeared in R. Hasanoglu's film "Huseyn Javid" (as the Young Poetess). S. Hajiyeva took part in the International Theatre Festival in Tatarstan (Kazan, 30 May – 6 June 2005, "Novruz" Festival of Turkic-Speaking Peoples' Theatres). On 27 May 2018 she was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She was awarded the Presidential Prize on 7 May 2020 and 7 May 2021.
