
He was born on 28 October 1992 into a family of intellectuals. From 2007 to 2010 he took part as a free auditor at Rustam Ibrahimbeyov's International Film School. In 2015 he studied "Philosophy" at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. In 2017 he received a bachelor's degree in "Film Studies" and "English Philology" from Palacký University in the city of Olomouc, Czech Republic. In 2018 he completed a course in "Film Producing" at the "Film and Television" faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is the author of the feature clip "Bayati Shiraz" (2014), the documentary films "Ashig Garib. An Azerbaijani Love Epic" (2014) and "Dialogues with Zuleikha" (2019), and educational videos such as "Tar Lessons" (2015–2017). He is co-author and editor-in-chief of the book "Azerbaijani Animation," published in 2018. The book is compiled in Azerbaijani and Russian and covers the history of the development of Azerbaijani animation from the 1930s to the present day. He is the founder and director of ANIMAFILM, the first Baku International Animation Festival, established in 2018. In 2019, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, in connection with the 50th anniversary of Azerbaijani animation, he organised screenings of Azerbaijan's cult retrospective animated films at international animation festivals such as "Animasyros" in Greece, "StopTrik" in Poland, and "TOFUZI" in Georgia. Rashid Aghamaliyev currently lives in Prague, Czech Republic. He is active in the fields of film and animation.
