
Mabud Maharramov graduated in 1978 from the drama and film acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. Since 1978 he has worked as an actor at the Samad Vurgun Russian Drama Theatre. Over these years he has played more than 50 roles on the theatre's stage and has appeared in many films. Among the characters he has created are Agasaf (in M. Ibrahimbeyov's A Man for a Young Woman), Amrah (in Hidayat's The Apartment), the Husband (in Elchin's My Husband Is Crazy), Hannibal (in J. Patrick's The Curious Mrs Savage), and the Fool (in W. Shakespeare's King Lear) — examples of the actor's varied creative palette. M. Maharramov has also appeared in many films and television films. In films such as A Business Trip, Park, Another Life, Under Conditions of Uncertainty and The Family Circle, the actor has played interesting, memorable roles. In 2000 M. Maharramov was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and in 2006 the title of People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He received the Presidential Prize in 2006, 2012, on 30 April 2014 and on 6 May 2015. On 6 May 2016 he was awarded a personal pension by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
