
Leyla Rzayeva was born on 21 April 1930 in Baku. Her childhood years coincided with the period of the Second World War. After finishing secondary school, Leyla Rzayeva enrolled at the Azerbaijan Theatre Institute. There she studied in the class of People's Artist and director Mehdi Mammadov. She was later invited to the Academic National Drama Theatre and began her stage career there. The actress worked at that theatre until the end of her life. Leyla Rzayeva was among the women whom life did not favour, and death claimed her early. The actress passed away on 5 November 1970 from a cerebral haemorrhage. At the time of her death, Leyla Rzayeva was only 40 years old.
