
Jabrayilov Elshan Shahin oghlu was born on 12 July 1977 in Baku. In 1999 he graduated from the drama and film acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Arts. While studying at the university, he worked at the Musical Comedy Theatre, first as a ballet artist and then as a choir actor. While in his second year, he was invited to the Academic National Drama Theatre, where he played the role of Nurlan in N. Hajizade's production "Revenge Will Not Wait for the Day of Judgment." Elshan Jabrayilov was accepted into the acting company of the Academic National Drama Theatre in 1999. He has played the following roles in the theatre: Shiruyya ("Farhad and Shirin," S. Vurgun), the Third Petitioner ("The Vizier of the Khan of Lankaran," M.F. Akhundov), Ilyas ("Aydin," J. Jabbarli), the Second Actor and the Captain ("Hamlet," W. Shakespeare), Patrick ("Letters from Brussels," H. Hasanov), the Lawyer ("The Rich Woman," A. Amirli), Fikrat ("The Second Voice," B. Vahabzade), the Young Man ("The Human Voice," J. Cocteau), Khlestakov ("The Government Inspector," Nikolai Gogol), and Fuad ("Almaz," Jafar Jabbarli). Elshan Jabrayilov takes an active and direct part in many state-level events. For his services to the development of Azerbaijani culture he was awarded the honorary title of "Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan." He was awarded the Presidential Prize on 9 May 2012, 30 April 2014, 6 May 2015, 6 May 2016, 1 May 2017, 9 May 2018, 10 May 2022, 6 May 2023 and 9 May 2024. The actor is the son of Shahin Jabrayilov.
