
Dilara Aliyeva graduated in 1994 from the "Theatre Company Director" faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. From 1996 to 2009 she worked as an actress at the Jafar Jabbarli Yerevan State Azerbaijani Drama Theatre. During her work as an actress, D. Aliyeva played interesting roles in plays of various genres. Her roles of Khatira (Hidayat, "Love Still Lives!…"), Gunay (Hidayat, "When the Cranes Return"), Gunay (M. Baychiyev, "Husband and Wife"), Henriette (G. de Maupassant, "The Barony"), Badam (V. Aliyev, "Madam Badam"), the Bride (Z. Yagub, "The Displaced"), Micheline (M. Marinier, "The Thief"), and Zarifa (G. Khugayev, "My Mother-in-Law") were warmly received by audiences. D. Aliyeva has also appeared in a number of television films. The characters she created on the television screen — Leyli (N. Ganjavi, "Leyli and Majnun"), Durna (V. Samadoghlu, "The Egg"), Khavar (M. Atash, "Brides"), Sarija (M. Suleymanli, "A Lesson in Nobility"), and Mahabbat (T. Imanov, "The Neighbourhood") — can be considered achievements in the actress's creative path. Dilara Aliyeva was the host of ATV's popular programme "Chal-Chaghir." She is currently the host of the programme "Sohbat Var" on ARB television. Her husband is Oqtay Aliyev (b. 1968), head of the "SOY Production" centre. She has two children: Aytan (b. 1994) and Banu (b. 2007). She is the daughter-in-law of People's Artists Elmira Ismayilova and Vidadi Aliyev, and the sister of Vusal Murtuzaliyev. On 16 October 2007, by decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, she was awarded the honorary title of "Honoured Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan" for her services to the development of Azerbaijani culture.
