
Tamara Yandiyeva was born in 1955 in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan. A Soviet and Russian actress and performer of pop songs, T. Yandiyeva holds the titles of Honoured Artist of the Chechen-Ingush Republic, Abkhazia, North Ossetia and the Russian Federation, and People's Artist of Ingushetia. As a vocalist she first became known throughout the Caucasus for the song "Khyu Sayran Khita Echa" ("When You Come to the Spring"), performed with Ruslan Naurbiyev, then a member of the group "Loam." T. Yandiyeva's 30th creative anniversary was celebrated in Moscow in December 2010. Having released three albums to date — Sakhyat ("The Clock"), Malkha Illi ("Songs Dedicated to the Sun") and Pir Doaqa Malkh ("The Shining Sun") — T. Yandiyeva continues her performing career to this day. Of the 18 films she has appeared in, T. Yandiyeva has played leading roles in 16: Roads of Fire, A Mountain Novella, Babek, Wait for Me, Year of the Dragon, The Bell of the Holy Forge, If You Love, About the Curiosities of Love, Another Night of Scheherazade, A Long Echo in the Mountains, Hello, Gulnara Rahimovna!, The New Tales of Scheherazade, Scheherazade's Last Night, The Return of Khoja Nasraddin, Adjuba's Black Prince, and Balthazar's Feast, or A Night With Stalin.
