Solmaz Hatamova was born in 1950 in Baku. She graduated from Secondary School No. 150. At the age of 13 she created the character of the pioneer Zarifa in the famous film "The Magic Robe." She later graduated from the economics faculty of the Azerbaijan Oil Academy (AZI). For many years she taught at the College of Communications, working in her field of specialisation. She is currently retired. She is married and has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.
