Emin Mirabdullayev was born in 1969. He studied theatre and film directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (1986–1992). He worked as a staging director at the Russian Drama Theatre (1992–1996), as a director at ANS Television (1996–1998), as executive producer (1998–2000), as assistant creative director at McCann Erickson (2000–2005), as executive producer at Space Television (2006), and as creative director at the Pro-Cent Producer Center (2009–2010). Since 2016 he has been a director at the Academic Russian Drama Theatre. He has received the Azerbaijan Film Academy's "Golden Fairy" Professional Awards for "Best Director of the Year" for "Humay" (2008), "Best Music Video of the Year" for "Humay" (2004), "Best Music Video of the Year" for "Grand" (2006), and "Best Debut" (short film) for "Postscript" (2018). He is a member of the Azerbaijan Guild of Professional Film Directors.
