
Javanshir Hadiyev was born on 18 April 1969 in Baku. He received his secondary education at School No. 126. In 1986 he was admitted to the class of renowned Russian actor and director Alexey Batalov, majoring in theatre and film acting, at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. He completed his studies and returned to Azerbaijan in 1990. After arriving in Baku he began working at the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theatre, the Azerbaijan State National Young Spectators'' Theatre and the Yugh Theatre. He later left the theatre and continued his career as a military director at the documentary film studio of the Ministry of Defence. In 2000 he was invited to Lider TV as a dubbing director. Javanshir Hadiyev has played roles in nearly 30 films. He first appeared on screen in 1991 in the short comedy "An Ordinary Story" in the 162nd issue of the Mozalan newsreel. In 1993 he appeared in the film "Fariad" ("Cry"). In 2010 director Elkhan Jafarov invited him to the film "Dolu" ("Hail"). Later, Turkish director Mehmet Ulukan invited him to the series "Flower of Darkness". Javanshir Hadiyev appeared in the series alongside People''s Artist Rasim Balayev and Honoured Artist Abbas Gahramanov. In 2012 he was invited by Yegor Konchalovsky to the project "Baku, I Love You" and was cast in one of the lead roles under the direction of Andrei Razenkov. In 2013 he appeared in Iranian director Babak Shirinsifat''s series "Breath of the Jackal" and in director Eldar Guliyev''s historical detective film "Notes of a Dervish"; in 2015 in director Yavar Rzayev''s film "The Dance of Good and Evil"; in 2016 in director Emil Abdullayev''s film "The Last Road"; in 2017 in director Kanan MM''s film "Night Guest 2"; in 2017 he had episodic roles in the well-known French series "The Bureau"; and in 2019 he appeared in an Indian film. In 2024 he took part in the action film "Vidaamuyarchi" ("Determination"; 2025). Javanshir Hadiyev heads the "Georgia-Azerbaijan Cultural Relations Association". In 2024, as part of joint cooperation with the Vietnam Cinema Association aimed at strengthening Vietnamese-Azerbaijani film relations, representatives of the Azerbaijani film delegation and representatives of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers'' Union — Honoured Artist and actress Gulzar Gurbanova and Honoured Artist and actor Javanshir Hadiyev — paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 9 to 14 September for the "Golden Kite 2024" award ceremony organised by the Vietnam Cinema Association.
