
Abbas Gahramanov was assigned to the Academic National Drama Theatre in the year he graduated from the institute. He did his military service from 1981 to 1983, and after returning he resumed working at the Academic National Drama Theatre. In 1988 he continued his acting career at the State Youth Theatre. In 1990 the actor returned once again to the Academic National Drama Theatre. There he played various roles in productions such as Marvan (B. Vahabzade, "Cry"), Goshgar (K. Karimov, "Sin Without Punishment"), Rasim (G. Rasulov, "Chahargah Fantasy"), the Narrator ("Malik Mammad" fairy tale), Rasim (Sh. Gurbanov, "What a Fix We're In"), the Husband (R. Akutagawa, "Three Versions of a Mysterious Murder"), Mammadkhan (I. Afandiyev, "The Ruler and His Daughter"), Iskandarzade (Elchin, "Ah, Paris, Paris..."), Shoklu Malik (N. Khazri, "Burla Khatun"), the Cook ("Mother Courage and Her Children"), Sahil (A. Amirli, "The Old House"), the Narrator ("The Tale of the Whimsical Prince"), Andronik ("They Hadn't Yet Said 'I Love You'..." by R. Novruz), Torvald Helmer (B. Brecht, "A Doll's House" by H. The actor has also played roles in a number of television plays and films, including Shahin in "The Engagement Ring", Khansu in "My Fault", Ragin in "Ward No. 6", the third brother in "Homeland", Bughajkhan in "The Book of Dede Gorgud" and Rasim in "Gift".
